 ROSECOM.NET ADSL HOW IT STARTED

 Rosecom.Net is one of the pioneer ISP (Internet service provider) companies in Nigeria and one of the first in Abuja the Nigerian Federal Capital. Rosecom.Net was registered in 1998 and by 1999 started operations providing Internet Access services to Individuals, Government Establishments, and other corporate organizations in Abuja and its environs. We provided services like Dialup Internet access, Website design and hosting, Domain Name Registration, E-mail services etc.Due to the persistence demand for Broadband Internet access we started offering broadband wireless Internet access with the use of Microwave radios deploying such Radios like Wavebolt, Bridge LAN, Breezenet and the like in the ISM(2.4GHZ) band.Though the wireless services boosted our business it was short lived, because NCC the telecommunication services regulatory body came out with a regulation prohibiting the use of the ISM band of frequency for the provision of commercial wireless Internet access service. Rosecom.net immediately stopped the offering of the wireless service that was December 2003 in other not to contravene the LAW. To satisfy the demand of those who were on our broadband service using wireless, Rosecom.Net started offering Internet service with the Use of VSAT links.  Because of the high cost of Vsat equipment not everybody could afford the service. To enable us serve a wide range of the populace, we started working out the Modalities to introduce the ADSL service on the NITEL telephone network. We decided that we will go all out to run the service our selves by Installing DSLAMs at our cost in all Nitel exchanges and run the service. However at the point of implementation NITEL decided that they will install the DSLAMs themselves to allow other ISPs also to participate in the service.We have being working with NITEL to actualize this project; our zeal is out of patriotism for we believe this will boost NITEL’s business and increase the demand for their lines.
